Not a fan? Well not today!

Yesterday I had a "not such a fan of Ruby" day and I'm pretty sure she had a "not such a fan of Mummy" day too. Thank goodness Greg was here and he and Ruby spent some quality time together while I tried not to go completely insane listening to her "opera practice" which was intermittently broken up with grumblings and fussing.
Isn't it funny how one day her screeching/playing is gorgeous and then another day you find it completely irritating?
I felt like such a bad Mum, but tried to remind myself that I've only had a couple of bad days (quite a few crappy "hours" here and there, but not counting those...) over a period of about 180 days so far where I am learning along the way and spending hour after hour mind-reading the needs of my baby and keeping her healthy and safe.
I feel more normal again today and back in "Mummy Mode" which is nice.
I am really not looking forward to the start of the new working year when Greg will be less available and I'll have to work out how to fit in jobs for my clients while looking after Ruby.
I have so many people say "You are so lucky you work from home - that would be so much easier."
Well yes and no.
I'm not "lucky" - I built my business up over the past 6 years and scraped by with stuff-all income to get to this point so I CAN work from home.
BUT I don't get maternity leave, or sick leave, or annual leave (yes I can take leave but there is no pay for that) and when I am working I can be interrupted at any time by a rather demanding (and yes, beautiful) baby.
There are always pro's and cons.
Anyway, hopefully I can create some systems to ease the stress of keeping the business running, while keeping my very important and (luckily for me) kind clients happy.
This year there will be a lot of change coming.
I can feel it in the air!
